The 94th Aero Squadron was part of the United States Army Air Service that fought on the Western Front in World War I. As part of the 1st Pursuit Group the Squadron's role was air superiority, escort duty and attacking enemy observation balloons. The Squadron's exploits were reported in the U.S. press extensively at the time and the 'hat in the ring' emblem became very recognisable. Famous pilots from the First War include Eddie Rickenbacker, Douglas Campbell and Raoul Lufbery. This design has been given a deliberate aged and 'weathered' appearance.
